Take the Nature Unplugged 28 Day Challenge.

Are you ready to reclaim your free time and rise above the digital noise? Then it’s time to hit the reset button and redefine your relationship with nature and technology. The Nature Unplugged 28 Day Challenge was designed to help you regain control of the technology in your life, reconnect with nature, and drastically improve your mental and physical health. This challenge is not for the faint of heart and isn’t to be taken lightly. If you’re ready to make some serious changes, let’s begin!

How it Works:

  1. Put your game face on and mentally commit to the challenge.

  2. Complete this short pre-challenge survey by May 1, 2024 (takes approximately 3 minutes).

  3. Review the rules (above) and recommended items to get started (below).

  4. From May 1 - 28 observe all seven rules everyday. We’re using the honor system folks.

  5. Complete the post-challenge survey before May 31, 2024 (sent to the email used to complete the pre-challenge survey).

  6. Celebrate your new relationship with technology, nature and yourself!

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET STARTED:

The Essentials: You don’t need much to get going, but these things are necessary to begin.

  • Alarm clock—Analog. No smart tech features.

  • A home for your phone—Think charging station, basket, etc.

Recommended Items: Optional, but helpful.

  • Book or magazine (for the bathroom)

  • Analog games, books, etc. for unplugged evening time

  • A journal

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Not allowed during digital curfew or sleeping. Okay for the rest of the time. 

  • Take time to reflect on if it’s absolutely necessary for you to be reached. If so, it’s okay. Don’t use it for anything other than critical purposes. 

  • Okay: 

    • Kindle paper white

    • Music

    Not okay:

    • Smart phones, tablets, laptops, tv’s, video games, podcasts, etc.

    • Phone and video calls, texts

    • Any device or software that engages you with dynamic or curated content

  • Using social media for work is common and appropriate while participating in this challenge. It’s less common to need to use a personal account for professional purposes—if this is the case for you, reflect on if it’s truly necessary and what other options might be more appropriate.
