What is Educator Training?
Educator Training is Nature Unplugged's most comprehensive professional development offering. It's designed for people who want to bring digital wellness programming to the communities they already serve, whether that's a classroom, a youth group, or a parent workshop.
Think of it as a train-the-trainer model: you'll learn Nature Unplugged's full curriculum, practice facilitating it, and leave with everything you need to lead the program on your own. The training covers the science behind screen time and nature's mental health benefits, practical facilitation skills, and strategies for creating safe, nonjudgmental spaces for conversation.
This program goes deeper than our introductory Advocate Workshop. If you've attended an Advocate Workshop and want to take the next step, or if you already know you want a thorough grounding in the curriculum, this is the right fit.

The Tech Lens
Understand how the attention economy shapes young people's relationship with technology. Learn to explain persuasive design, algorithmic feeds, and notification systems in ways that resonate with students and parents, without being preachy or anti-tech.
The Nature Lens
Explore the research connecting time in nature with improved mental health, focus, and emotional regulation. Gain tools to facilitate meaningful outdoor experiences that feel accessible and welcoming rather than physically demanding or elite.
The Leadership Lens
Master facilitation techniques that create safe, nonjudgmental spaces for conversations about screen time. Learn to model healthy digital habits and guide participants toward their own balanced relationship with technology through practical, everyday practices.
